Forclosures, Credit, And Over-Consumption

“We’re consumers. We are by-products of a lifestyle obsession.” -Tyler Durden played by Brad Pitt in the movie Fight Club.
I caught The Daily Show with John Stewart  the other night, it had a satircal piece on Gen Y and credit cards. Video sourced from YouTube.

Lets get serious for a second though. Forclosures are increasing, credit scores are [...]

Taking The Day Off

I’m going to be taking the day off today to hang out at the lake with my girfriend, her brother and my nephew and do some wakeboarding.
My nephew is going to be a senior this year in high school and will soon be leaving for college. I might not be able to spend as much time [...]

Don’t Over Improve Your Home For Sale

Sometimes when I’m talking with a Home Seller about the price of their home, the Home Seller will explain that their home is more expensive than all the other homes in the neighborhood, because of the professional faux suede painted walls, or the imported french tiles to make the unique entry way, or the custom granite counter tops.
I [...]

The average sales price in May of ‘07 was $242,675. In May of ‘06 it was $236,564. Does that mean home prices are still going up?

FSBO. Sure! Divorce. Why Not?

I would think a Divorce Attorney card would be the most thrown away card in all of business cards.
If you met a Divorce Attorney at a networking event and took his card and stuffed it in your pocket or purse and forget about it, then your spouse some how came acrossed it, you’re probably going to have some explaining to do [...]

Make It A Great Day

If you were to call my phone 608-333-5915 and got my voicemail, you would hear me end my voicemail message with “..make it a great day!” I have ended my voicemail with “…make it a great day!” for close to five years. I have realized that you can’t have a great day unless YOU make it [...]

Using The Home As An ATM

The website 360FinancialLiteracy.org states that home equity borrowing in America has risen 278% since 2004. American’s have a home equity loan balance close to $719 billion. The balance on home equity loans now exceeds the total balance on credit cards in the nation. Maybe because people took out home equity loans to pay off their credit cards.
There are two types [...]

NAR Re-Predicts, Again

National Association Of Realtors (NAR) released a report predicting home prices and number of homes sold to drop even more then predicted just last month.
I wrote, NAR Predicting Home Prices To Drop This Year, calling their predictions a crap shoot. Now I’m sure they are just throwing darts, blindfolded.
Just a month after that report CNNMoney.com [...]
