In our blog article, NAR Predicting Home Prices To Drop This Year, we mention that “Real estate is local, like the weather. It doesn’t matter what the weather is like in Austin, Texas if you are planning a picnic in Madison, Wisconsin.”
CNNMoney.com reports that “Home Prices Drop For Third Straight Quarter.” The article says,
“U.S. home prices fell for their third straight quarter, according to an industry report released Tuesday. The median price of a single-family home fell 1.8 percent to $212,300 for the three months ended March 31, compared with the first quarter of 2006, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR).”
What is interesting in the article, they include a pricing chart of all the nations major metro areas and what the price is doing in each city. In Wisconsin, they report Madison up 1.7%, while the other Wisconsin cities are down.
